Description
Colorado was added to the Union in 1876, the 38th state to join. The flag shown here was adopted in 1911. The colors (red, blue, white) stand for the soil, the skies, and the snow, respectively. Enclosing the yellow disc representing the sun is a capital C standing for the name of the state.
