Description
Idaho was added to the Union in 1890, the 43rd state to join. The flag shown here was introduced in 1907 and adopted in 1927. The state seal in the center of the flag contains many symbolic items: the female figure is a symbol of women’s suffrage and liberty, and the miner, the tree, and the ploughman and grain represent Idaho’s dependence on natural resources in their economy.
