Description
North Carolina was one of the original thirteen colonies. The flag shown here was officially adopted in 1885. It displays the national colors and symbols of North Carolina (the initials and the star). The dates on the scrolls mark two important dates from the American Revolution: the top is the signing of the Mecklenburg Declaration of Independence, and the bottom is the signing of the Halifax Resolutions.
