Whether you’re a lifelong cheesehead or a newfound devotee of Friday night fish fries, this flag is the perfect way to add a touch of sophisticated Badger pride to your domain.
History of Wisconsin State Flag
Wisconsin was added to the Union in 1848, the 30th state to join. The flag shown here was introduced in 1981, although the same design without the state name and the date has been in use since 1913. The two human figures are a miner and a sailor; they stand for equal labor on water and on land. The arms contain symbols of mining, manufacturing, navigation, and agriculture, and the badger reflects the state nickname of the “Badger State.”
