3×5′ Bedford Flag
The 3×5′ Bedford Flag is a historic symbol of the town of Bedford, Massachusetts. It was first flown in 1775 by the Bedford Minutemen, who fought in the Battle of Lexington and Concord. The flag is made of white silk and features a blue canton with 13 white stars, representing the 13 original colonies. In the center of the canton is a red heart, which represents the town’s love of country. The flag has been flown continuously since 1775 and is considered one of the oldest American flags still in existence. It is currently on display at the Bedford Public Library.
